Our Team

Our workshop thrives on the expertise and passion of our 17-person team. Each artisan brings unique skills to the table, from master potters who have honed their craft over decades to younger apprentices learning the traditional techniques that make Moroccan pottery world-renowned. Together, we create pieces that are not just functional, but works of art.

The Art of Creating Handcrafted Sinks

Our ceramic sinks are our pride and specialty. Each piece goes through a meticulous production process that ensures quality, durability, and beauty. Here's how we bring each sink to life:

Step 1: Clay Preparation

We begin by carefully selecting and preparing high-quality clay. The clay is cleaned, mixed with water to achieve the perfect consistency, and kneaded thoroughly to remove air bubbles that could cause cracks during firing.

Step 2: Shaping

Our skilled potters shape each sink by hand on the potter's wheel or using traditional molds. This step requires years of experience to achieve the perfect form, ensuring both aesthetic appeal and practical functionality.

Step 3: First Drying

The shaped sinks are left to dry slowly in a controlled environment. This gradual drying process, which can take several days, prevents cracking and prepares the piece for the next stages.

Step 4: Trimming and Refining

Once partially dried, artisans carefully trim excess clay and refine the edges and surfaces. This is when we add any decorative elements or ensure the drainage hole is perfectly positioned.

Step 5: First Firing (Bisque)

The sinks undergo their first firing in our kilns at approximately 900-1000°C. This bisque firing hardens the clay and prepares it for glazing.

Step 6: Glazing

This is where the magic happens. Our artisans apply traditional Moroccan glazes, often featuring intricate patterns and vibrant colors inspired by Fez's rich artistic heritage. Each sink can be customized with different colors and designs.

Step 7: Final Firing

The glazed sinks are fired again at higher temperatures (1200-1300°C). This final firing melts the glaze, creating a beautiful, waterproof, and durable finish that will last for generations.

Step 8: Quality Control

Every sink is carefully inspected to ensure it meets our high standards. We check for structural integrity, glaze quality, and overall finish before it's approved for sale.

Step 9: Packaging

Finally, each sink is carefully packaged to ensure it arrives safely to customers around the world, ready to bring a touch of Moroccan artistry to their homes.
